Invitation for Public Comment on Mitigation Options for Global Positioning System Satellite Vehicle Number 49
The U.S. Government is providing notice that it is actively considering several mitigation options prior to changing the health status of Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite IIR–20M (satellite vehicle number 49—SVN 49) from unhealthy to healthy. Written comments should be submitted by May 28, 2010.

APEC GNSS Implementation Team Meeting
The 14th meeting of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Implementation Team focusing on Reducing Congestion, Promoting Energy Efficiency, Enhancing Safety and Livability will take place June 21-24, 2010 in Seattle, WA.
LORAN-C Termination
In accordance with the 2010 DHS Appropriations Act, the U.S. Coast Guard terminated the transmission of all U.S. LORAN-C signals on 08 Feb 2010. This termination does not affect U.S. participation in the Russian American or Canadian LORAN-C chains. U.S. participation in these chains will continue temporarily in accordance with international agreements.
GPS OCX Contract Award
Officials from the Space and Missile Systems Center's Global Positioning Systems Wing announced today the award of the Next Generation GPS Control Segment (OCX) contract to Raytheon Company, Intelligence & Information Systems, Aurora, Colorado. OCX will replace the current GPS Operational Control System, maintaining backwards compatibility with the Block IIR and IIR-M constellation, providing command and control of the new GPS IIF and GPS III families of satellites, and enabling new modernized signal capabilities.
